Yellow Submarine’s Batyuk will step in for Collapse during his absence.
Team Spirit’s star offlaner, Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov, will miss the next two tournaments–PREMIER SERIES 1 and the high-profile PGL Wallachia Season 8–due to undisclosed personal reasons. In his absence,
Yellow Submarine’s offlaner, BBODDY (now known as Batyuk), will serve as a stand-in.
Team Spirit confirmed that Collapse will miss PREMIER SERIES 1, which runs from 1–11 April, and PGL Wallachia Season 8, scheduled for 16–26 April. His absence is expected to last close to a month, with a presumable return for DreamLeague Season 29 and BLAST Slam VII in May.
Collapse’s break may be a period of personal rest ahead of a packed mid-season with landmark events, including the Dota 2 Esports World Cup in July and The International 2026 in August, with the million-dollar Games of the Future also taking place in between.
Team Spirit have already secured a direct invite to the Dota 2 Esports World Cup as defending champions, and are also in a strong position to qualify directly for the world championship, currently sitting fifth in our Dota 2 team rankings.
Who is Batyuk from Yellow Submarine?
Filling in for Collapse at both PREMIER SERIES 1 and PGL Wallachia Season 8 is 21-year-old Ukrainian offlaner Batyuk, who is officially part of the Yellow Submarine roster. He previously played for Eastern European team
Passion UA from 2024-2025.
While most teams tend to recruit well-known and experienced players as stand-ins, Team Spirit often look within their own system, drawing talent from Yellow Submarine–a team closely linked to Spirit and widely regarded as their academy squad.
This is not the first time such a move has been made. Earlier in the season, Denis “Larl” Sigitov’s extended break saw former Yellow Submarine midlaner
Mirele` step in temporarily. Meanwhile, prodigy carry
Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov also ‘graduated’ from Yellow Submarine after a year, briefly replacing
Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk in Team Spirit before being loaned to
PARIVISION in early 2025.
It is worth noting that Yellow Submarine registered a completely new roster for PREMIER SERIES 1, with Batyuk currently playing as their new offlaner in the ongoing Play-In stage. Following Team Spirit’s announcement, he is now also registered as Spirit’s stand-in for the tournament–a somewhat confusing situation, but we’ll see how circumstances unfold.
Batyuk to play for Spirit in PREMIER SERIES 1 and Wallachia S8
Team Spirit are set to debut with Batyuk at the Tier 2 online tournament, PREMIER SERIES 1. While it may not be a top-tier event, its strong lineup makes it an intriguing competition. Prominent teams expected in the Playoffs include
Team Liquid, PARIVISION,
Heroic,
MOUZ, and Team Spirit themselves, while the Play-In stage features several notable names such as
Nigma Galaxy,
GamerLegion, and
Virtus.pro.
However, PGL Wallachia Season 8 is where the stakes truly rise. This high-profile tournament will see teams battle for a US$1 million prize pool and the prestigious Wallachia trophy. With a more stacked lineup of elite teams, the level of competition is expected to be significantly higher.
