PGL Wallachia Season 7 stand-in turmoil sees Parker, DM, Lorenof step in

Multiple teams have been affected by visa issues ahead of PGL Wallachia Season 7, resulting in last-minute roster changes.

Visa issues have disrupted several teams ahead of the next major Dota 2 event, PGL Wallachia Season 7. This has led to a flurry of last-minute stand-ins being announced, and several teams are now preparing to enter the tournament with slightly altered rosters.

PGL Wallachia Season 7, running from 7 to 15 March, will feature 16 teams, five of which have been affected by this visa storm, including one squad that had to be entirely replaced. Here is a breakdown of the players who will be sidelined and their appointed stand-ins.

Tundra Esports: Parker steps in for Pure

Fresh off their DreamLeague Season 28 victory, Tundra Esports will enter PGL Wallachia Season 7 without their star carry, Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko. The bigger surprise is that David Nicho “Parker” Flores has been named as his stand-in for the event.

Parker is widely recognised as one of the best Dota 2 carry players in the world, yet he has struggled to translate that talent into consistent results, largely due to recurring behavioural issues. His history reflects this, as Parker has been unable to remain on a single team for more than a few months. Only weeks ago, he was dropped from paiN Gaming in the middle of DreamLeague Season 28 due to unprofessional behaviour.

Tundra’s decision to field Parker raises significant questions, and eyes will be on the team to see whether the choice turns out disastrous or brilliant.

Aurora Gaming: V-Tune stands in for Nightfall

Another carry player will be absent from PGL Wallachia Season 7, with Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko of Aurora Gaming stepping back due to visa issues, replaced by Alik “V-TUNE” Vorobey, who last played for Virtus.pro CIS.

Aurora Gaming have been performing well in the past few tournaments, most notably winning their first event last month and placing second in the recently concluded DreamLeague, all despite missing their midlaner Rafli Fathur “Mikoto” Rahman. Now, just as Mikoto returns, Nightfall unfortunately has to step away.

Filling in the carry role will be V-Tune, who, despite being a staple name in the scene, does not quite hold the pedigree of Nightfall. It remains to be seen how Aurora will adjust this time around.

Team Yandex: DM stands in for Noticed

Team Yandex will be missing offlaner Evgeniy “Noticed” Ignatenko once again, who was also absent during DreamLeague Season 28. His absence was strongly felt, with Yandex finishing 11th–12th, marking their worst performance yet–a stark contrast to their previous consistent Top 3 placements.

While Noticed’s continued absence poses a risk for Yandex, hope is greater this time around, as a prominent name steps in to help. Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin, former PARIVISION offlaner, will fill the gap. He notably dominated last season with the team, and this will be his first major appearance since being benched from PARIVISION over a month ago.

Team Falcons: Lorenof replaces Malr1ne

Team Falcons, The International 2025 champions, have struggled to maintain top form in recent tournaments, placing a modest Top 6 at both BLAST Slam VI and DreamLeague Season 28.

The team now faces another challenging campaign, competing without their star midlaner, Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak. Stepping into the midlane is Ukrainian talent Artem “Lorenof” Melnick, a highly reliable replacement.

He previously impressed as a stand-in for Aurora during DreamLeague Season 28, helping the team secure a runner-up finish and contributing to a 31-game win streak across three prior events.

Lorenof’s individual skills are expected to shine just as brightly, if not more, on the star-studded roster of Falcons.

Vici Gaming replaces Power Rangers

While the other teams had to scramble for a single-player replacement, an entire stack had to be replaced due to visa issues.

Eastern European team Power Rangers dominated their way through the regional qualifiers, topping other well-known teams to claim a slot in PGL Wallachia S7. However, with the squad facing logistic issues, the team was ultimately replaced by China’s Vici Gaming, the team that placed second in the Asia qualifiers.

While some have questioned the differing region replacement, other Eastern European options were likely to face similar visa issues, making Vici Gaming the practical choice. Fans aren’t complaining either, with legendary players like Hongcheng “Xm” Guo and Zhang “Bach” Ruida able to join the fray.

PGL Wallachia Season 7 assembles all 16 teams in an offline setting at the PGL Studio in Bucharest, Romania. The event will kick off with a swiss-system Group Stage spanning five days, from 7 to 11 March, followed by a four-day standard Playoffs, from 12 to 15 March. Winners will take home US$300,000 in prize money.
