Nightfall to miss PGL Wallachia Season 7 amid visa issues, V-Tune stands in

Aurora Gaming will once again compete with an incomplete roster, as Nightfall is sidelined due to visa issues.

The next major Dota 2 event, PGL Wallachia Season 7, is just around the corner. Unfortunately for Eastern European team Aurora Gaming, their campaign will once again proceed without their full roster at full strength.

Just as Rafli Fathur “Mikoto” Rahman returns after an extended absence to resolve visa issues, Aurora will now be without their carry player, Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko, who is facing visa complications of his own. Stepping in as a stand-in is Ukrainian player Alik “V-TUNE” Vorobey.

Nightfall’s absence could disrupt Aurora’s momentum

This change to the core line-up could disrupt Aurora’s recent momentum. The team are fresh from a runner-up finish at DreamLeague Season 28 and have delivered consistently strong performances over the past few months.

Aurora had put together an impressive 31-game winning streak, spanning FISSURE Universe Episode 8–where the team lifted their first trophy–and DreamLeague Division 2 Season 3, before it was finally ended by Team Liquid during DreamLeague Season 28.

Their steady rise in form has been convincing–and likely intimidating for their rivals as they sit in third place on our current Dota 2 team rankings. Their second-place finish at the recent DreamLeague was enough to establish them as one of the favourites heading into the upcoming tournament. However, without Nightfall’s presence, expectations may shift.

Aurora fans will hope the team can replicate their resilience with a stand-in, much like they did during DreamLeague Season 28 when Artem “Lorenof” Melnick filled in during Mikoto’s absence. While V-Tune may not carry the same pedigree as Nightfall, he has frequently served as a substitute within the region, most notably stepping in for Team Liquid at DreamLeague Season 26 in May 2025.

PGL Wallachia Season 7 commences soon

PGL Wallachia Season 7 will be no easy challenge. The US$1 million tournament assembles 16 top-tier teams from 7 to 15 March, with the champions set to claim US$300,000 in prize money. MOUZ enter as the defending champions, having lifted the trophy in the sixth edition last November.
