AVULUS player Corrupted will now stand in for Team Falcons at DreamLeague Season 28.
Team Falcons will continue their DreamLeague Season 28 campaign at a disadvantage, as their star offlaner, Ammar “ATF” Assaf, remains sidelined with an eye infection. Virtus.pro’s
Jonáš “SabeRLighT-” Volek was initially brought in as a temporary replacement, but after a difficult showing, Falcons have announced another change, with
Ivan “Vazya” German (now known as Corrupted) set to assume ATF’s role for the foreseeable future.
SabeRLight- out, Corrupted in
It was unfortunate timing for SabeRLight- to join the lineup, as he was immediately matched up against his former teammates at
Team Liquid. While Falcons have struggled for consistency this season, Liquid recently claimed the BLAST Slam VI title and are currently in strong form. The gap in performance was evident, as Falcons suffered a 0-2 defeat in their Group Stage 2 series against Liquid, losing at the 21-minute and 26-minute marks respectively.
The loss was a heavy stomp and likely contributed to the decision to make another change in the offlane position. Falcons have now brought in Corrupted who is currently playing for
AVULUS. His recent results have been modest, including a second-place finish in DreamLeague Division 2 Season 2 with
eSpoiled, followed by a fourth-place finish in the subsequent Division 2 event with AVULUS.
Despite having a less established pedigree, Corrupted quickly found synergy with Falcons in his first stand-in series, helping the team secure a 2-0 victory over
MOUZ in Group Stage 2. It is worth noting, however, that MOUZ are also struggling in the event, currently holding a 0-4 win-lossrecord.
Falcons are expected to continue their DreamLeague Season 28 run with Corrupted in the lineup, at least until ATF has fully recovered. The team will need crucial victories against
Tundra Esports,
PARIVISION, and
Xtreme Gaming to remain in contention and secure a top-four finish in Group Stage 2.
Group Stage 2 of DreamLeague Season 28 concludes on 27 February. Should Falcons manage to climb into the top four, they will advance to the Playoffs, scheduled to take place from 28 February to 1 March.
