ATF will miss upcoming matches at DreamLeague Season 28 due to an eye infection.
Team Falcons have been dealt an unexpected setback during their ongoing DreamLeague Season 28 campaign, as offlaner Ammar “ATF” Assaf has been sidelined with an eye infection. He will be absent indefinitely, with
Jonáš “SabeRLighT-” Volek stepping in as a temporary replacement.
The organisation confirmed the update on social media, wishing their star offlaner a speedy recovery. “Our player ATF will miss the next matches of #DreamLeague S28 due to an eye infection. SabeRLight- will replace him until he gets better,” the announcement read.
While ATF may not be out for long, all depending on his recovery, the timing of his absence is certainly not ideal. Team Falcons are currently navigating a challenging DreamLeague Season 28 run and must now continue their campaign without one of their key players.
In Group Stage 2, Falcons currently hold a 1–1 record, having secured a win against
BetBoom Team but suffered a defeat to
Aurora Gaming. Although it is still early in this phase, their current standing places them in a precarious position, with elimination at risk. There is little margin for error if they hope to progress to the Playoffs.
SabeRLight takes on high-pressure stand-in role
If there is a suitable candidate to fill ATF’s shoes in the interim, SabeRLight- is certainly among the strongest options available. The Czech player is widely regarded as one of the scene’s well-known offlaners, having represented
Team Liquid during the 2024–2025 season, where he built a respectable track record. He currently plays as the offlaner for
Virtus.pro.
With SabeRLight- occupying ATF’s seat for the foreseeable future, Falcons may need to adjust their approach in their next matches. Their upcoming schedule features formidable encounters against
MOUZ,
Tundra Esports,
PARIVISION, and
Xtreme Gaming.
Group Stage 2 of DreamLeague Season 28 concludes on 27 February. If Falcons manage to claw their way to the Top 4 of the standings, they will head to the Playoffs round, scheduled to take place from 28 February to 1 March.
