Arlington Major group stages team and hero statistics

With the group stages for the PGL Arlington Major done and dusted, we take a look at the team and hero statistics for the group stage games.

The final DPC Major of the year, the Arlington Major is halfway to the end. The group stages are complete, 5 out of the 17 teams that started have been eliminated, and the remaining 12 teams will now compete for the trophy, with no less than 8 of those teams still vying for a direct invite to The International 2022 (TI11).

A total of 128 games were played throughout the group stages. Because Group A had nine teams while Group B had only eight teams, the total number of games played by teams differ based on which group they were in.

Group A teams played 16 games while Group B teams played 14 games in the best-of-2 all-play-all format. Below are the team statistics for the group stages of the Arlington Major.

The PGL Arlington Major has surely shown a lot of diversity in terms of hero picks. With a total of 101 heroes picked till now, the meta has shown that a lot of strats are viable. However, there still is that specific set of heroes that are very highly valued in terms of either picks or bans. These heroes – which include the likes of Puck, Tiny, Razor, Dawnbreaker and Chen – will continue to make the headlines. But there are bound to be hidden strats that will come out when teams have their backs against the walls in playoff games.

With a plethora of teams trying to squeeze their way into the top 12 of the DPC rankings to get a direct invite to TI11, the playoffs are bound to bring edge-of-the-seat action. This is the last chance to qualify for TI11 directly. Any team that fails to make it here will have to go through the regional qualifiers.

The playoffs begin on Tuesday the 9h of August at 10:00 am Central Standard Time (GMT-6).
