Team Secret take first DPC trophy of season at DreamLeague Season 13: Leipzig Major

In a thrilling grand finals, Team Secret overpowered Evil Geniuses 3:2 to take home their first DPC 2019-2020 season trophy and title.

The second Major of the DPC 2019-2020 season came to an end. Evil Geniuses' third place curse narrative had collapsed, MATUMBAMAN being the problem meme was foiled and after being thoroughly tested in a five-game series, Team Secret lifted the DreamLeague Season 13: Leipzig Major trophy.

Coming in hot off their 2:1 victory over Vici Gaming in the lower bracket finals, Evil Geniuses looked to be spot on with their draft, rotations and gameplay. They tore through Team Secret, ripping them to shreds and showing no mercy in the opening match of the series.

Team Secret answered back with a mid Meepo pick and repaid Evil Geniuses for the first game, bringing the series back to square one with a level playing field.

The call and response continued as the third match volleyed between the two teams for the first 40 minutes until EG was able to secure the late game burst they were aiming for.

Team Secret once again answered the call and destroyed EG in the fourth game with perfect execution and a flawless game for Michal ‘Nisha’ Jankowski. The title and trophy had now come down to a best-of-one contest.

The last game of the series saw Team Secret emerge from the start bold, confident and ready to win. They looked precise and methodical as they moved around the map, tore through EG and took objectives. EG was at a loss, unable to have the last word and were forced to call "GG" 35 minutes in.

Evil Geniuses defied expectations in a positive way and walks away with 3000 DPC points. Team Secret is already measuring up to their last year's DPC performance and will take home 4,850 points and third place in the DPC rankings - not bad for a team that just joined the DPC point race.
