Team Secret has been confirmed as the only direct invite that will participate in the GESC: Thailand Minor schedule in May.
The third-ranked team on the DPC leaderboard will be on hand at Thailands largest LAN and the first Valve sponsored event expected to take place May 9-12th at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre Hall 106 in Bangkok. Eight teams will be competing for the $300,000 prize pool and 300 DPC points.
Although Team Secret did not make an appearance at the GESC: Indonesia Minor, Manager and Director of Operations for Team Secret did praise the organizers for a stand out event.
A sentiment that was echoed by those in attendance and with vast experience working with various tournament organizers across the globe.
Earlier this week the organizers received flack for a last minute change in the SEA qualifier dates and format—pushing out the dates until April and adding two more teams to the mix.
Like GESC: Indonesia, there will be one team directly invited, six regional qualifiers and one special qualifier for local teams in Thailand. SG e-sports have already claimed their place as the South American representatives earlier this month.
