Ramping up for Zotac Cup Masters; iG.Vitality replace iG, DC last invite, schedule, format released

ZOTAC Cup Masters is about to get in full swing tomorrow, May 30th. The event taking place in Taipei, Taiwan boasts a $100,000 prize pool and eight teams battling it out for a clutch LAN title ahead of TI7 invites.

The ZOTAC Cup Masters LAN event is flanked by two of the premier LAN events of the Spring season. As Evil Geniuses snatched the title at Manila Masters just yesterday, EPICENTER 2017 will commence June 4th - but that didn't stop eight teams from arriving in Taipei for a chance to participate in Taiwan's first big Dota 2 LAN event.

The event seemed to be heading into a rocky start only days ago with some team attendance issues that have since been sorted out. Team Freedom was forced to withdraw their participation from the event due to visa issues that grounded Yawar 'YawaR' Hassan. Their place was granted to the new iteration of Digital Chaos, who recently placed 9-16th at the Kiev Major.  Due to the tight schedule facing Invictus Gaming, with a busy LAN season ahead iG.Vitality will be stepping into their place and aiming to bring home the trophy for their organization anyway.

ZOTAC Cup will be held between May 30-June 3rd. Out of the eight teams competing for the $100,000 prize pool, there is one team that seems to be a cut above the rest - Newbee who went head to head with Evil Geniuses and came out in second place at Manila Masters yesterday. They will be fighting in order to potentially guarantee a direct invite to the International 2017.

The tournament will be held in Taiwan in the Nangang Exhibition Center and will be streamed on the Zotac Cup Twitch channel with English broadcasting being brought to life on site by Moonduck Studios.
