VISA issues prevent IS GG from going to the ZOTAC Cup in Taiwan

The visa issues of Yawar 'YawaR' Hassan will prevent is GG, recently signed by Team Freedom, from going to Taiwan to play in the ZOTAC Cup.

In an unfortunate turn of events, ex-is GG, now having been picked up by Team Freedom, announced that they would not be attending the ZOTAC Cup which they had qualified for through the American qualifiers. The announcement came as a result of their safelaner YawaR being unable to acquire a Taiwanese visa, required for him to play for the event. The news was announced on Quinn 'CCnC' Callahan's Twitter account, where he did not seem to be very pleased by the news himself.

We reached out to the tournament organizers of the ZOTAC Cup, and here's what they had to say regarding this problem:

It’s very unfortunate that we couldn't get past the visa issue. Right now we are talking to a few teams, but we are still waiting for a solid confirmation before announcing who will replace isGG.

Team is GG was created in March of this year with the aim to qualify for the Kiev Major. After getting through the Open Qualifiers of the Americas, is GG failed to get past the group stage of the Regional Qualifiers for North America. However, soon afterwards, they were able to bounce back and secure for themselves a spot at the ZOTAC Cup in Taiwan by beating Infamous 2-1 in the Grand Finals of the American qualifiers for the event. The team, however, failed to qualify for both the Summit 7 as well as EPICENTER Moscow. A few hours ago, the team was signed by Team Freedom in order to support them in their road to the International 2017.

ZOTAC Cup will be held next week from the 30th of May and will run till the third of June. Out of the eight teams competing for the 100,000$ prize pool, there is one team that seems to be a cut above the rest - Invictus Gaming. They will be fighting alongside teams like Team NP, Warriors Gaming.Unity, and Fnatic in order to potentially guarantee a direct invite to the International 2017. The tournament will be held in Taiwan in the Nangang Exhibition Center and will be streamed on the Zotac Cup Twitch channel.
