In the wake of the recent drama, invitees Team Secret decided to withdraw from the Summit 6.
The sixth iteration of Beyond the Summit's annual tournament is set to be host from October to the finals in November. The tournament boasts a solid $100,000 USD prize pool, but more than that it will be a valuable training ground before the Boston Major set to be held in December.
In the wake of recent drama, invitees Team Secret have announced their withdrawal from the tournament. While Secret withdraws, the tournament still plays host to Wings Gaming, OG, Evil Geniuses, and Digital Chaos with the four other slots to come from qualifiers in China, SEA and NA.
With Secret's abrupt withdrawal, changes were made to the qualifier stage, which now hosts teams in China, SEA, EU, and the NA regions--previously having only three qualifiers to make up the eight total slots. Additionally, the EU and NA qualifier also contain an open slot, which is to be filled by the winner of a FACEIT Open qualifier for the two regions.
The main qualifiers for the tournament are set to start on October 10 with the Chinese qualifier. Following that from the 11th-12th of October, the SEA, EU, and NA qualifiers will start. As for the Open qualifiers for EU and NA, the European open starts in less than 24 hours at 1700 CEST, so be sure to register ASAP if you want a chance to get in. The NA open qualifier will start on October 11.
Competition is set to be fierce, especially for the EU qualifier which features a total of 11 teams including the open qualifier slot. For comparison, the NA qualifier only features four teams including the open slot.
