Virtus Pro secured first place at the Play It Cool Dota2 Invitational after winning two matches in a row against NiP and Alliance, winning both the games 2-0.
ESL and ASUS announced Play It Cool DotA2 Invitational just after the Starladder XII LAN, it featured a $30,000 prize pool for just one day of competition. The organizers invited Lemondogs, Alliance, Virtus Pro and the Ninjas in Pyjamas. It had a very simple format; a two round single elimination bracket and Virtus Pro made it look easy after beating Alliance and NiP without dropping even a single game.
Virtus Pro had a relatively harder run to the finals as compared to Alliance, they had to overcome NiP who were a far tougher opponent than Lemondogs who are a newly signed team and this was their first international LAN. In the finals they met with the Alliance, who just made a roster change (Replacing Niqua with AdmiralBulldog) and managed to beat them 2-0 to secure the first LAN in 6.84 and $12,500. Overall Virtus Pro showed a very good understanding of the new patch and proved that they are a tough opponent right now.
