Synergy League Chinese division concludes, NewBee and VG advance

The dust has finally settled for the Chinese division of Synergy League. NewBee and VG managed to defeat iG and DK in their respective best-of-three semi-finals, each grabbing one of the two tickets to the LAN finals of Barnaul, Russia.

The regional divisions of Synergy League is currently under way with challengers from Europe, SEA and China fighting for the eight available slots in the offline finals that will take place in late November. Earlier today, two Chinese representatives emerged from the group playoffs - ViCi Gaming and NewBee. These teams will be travelling to Barnaul in Russia along with two winners from SEA and four from Europe.

Placing first in the group, ViCi Gaming secured a spot in the best-of-three semi-finals directly. On the other hand, their opponent Team DK had to go through LGD in the previous round. The match between the two teams was rather one-sided, with VG giving almost no chances to their opponent.

Unlike VG, NewBee did not reach the semis right off the bat. Their fourth place in the conclusion of the round-robin phase was barely enough to secure them a spot in the regional playoffs, where they faced and defeated HyperGloryTeam in three games. Their next opponent was the second placer Invictus Gaming, with ChuaN's boys making a solid but inadequate effort to defeat the TI4 champions.

The European playoffs are about to begin, with AlbumSheet facing compLexity Gaming on October 24th, 18:00 CET. As for the SEA groupstage, only three matches remain for the second group of the region, and they will be taking later in the day.
