With the conclusion of the groupstage, it is time for GEST June playoffs. This month, three Pinoy teams have made it through and are looking to make a deep run into the event.
The groupstage of GEST held no surprise with most of the known teams through to the playoffs.
Out of the eight remaining teams in the event, three Pinoy teams, Dreamz, Mineski, and Mineski Cebu division, are looking to go for a deep run in this edition of GEST. Not much is known about the new Mineski division although they did have a relatively easy run throughout the groupstage. In other news, Malay-Allstars, also a prospective team from Malaysia, has made it through to the playoffs of GEST for the very first time after being denied into the qualifiers for the last past four editions of the tournament.
The tournament's favourites are obviously Invasion-MUFC and MiTH-Trust who results-combined, have won three of the past four GEST events.
The GEST June playoffs will run for two days beginning tomorrow and ending on Sunday. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played in their entirety tomorrow while Sunday is reserved for the grand final. All games will be played in best-of-three format while the grand final will be played in best-of-five.
Besides gunning for the prize money, all the teams participating in the playoffs will also be collecting points to qualify for the GMPGL event which will run in late October.
