The end of the group stage of Dota 2 Super League draws near as the deciding games of group B are set to be played in the next three days, starting from today. There are a lot of questions to be answered such as who is going to top the group and who will join RattleSnake in the race for staying in the league.">
The concluding games of the Dota 2 Super League's group B will be played on 13, 14 and 15th June. Almost nothing is certain in this group since all the teams have something to fight for.
Today we will witness the first deciding game between Orange and RattleSnake. The Malaysians will have to win against RSnake in order to stand a chance for topping the group. Currently Orange's score is 2-0 (4-1 overall) and winning this game will level them in the first place along with DK who are 3-0 (6-0). DK will meet Orange on Saturday in a crucial game where the winner will top the group guaranteeing them a direct semi-final spot.
Friday, June 14, will bring us yet another interesting game. RisingStars will face LGD.Int in a head-to-head match in which the winner will secure their place in the tournament while the beaten team will join RattleSnake, Vici Gaming and For.Love in the relegation playoffs. Currently LGD.Int are 3rd with 1-2 (3-5) and RisingStars are 4th with 1-2 (2-5).
RattleSnake is the only team in group B who will certainly play in the relegation playoff as their score is 0-3 (2-6). Even if they beat Orange, they won't have a chance for finishing the group in the safe 3rd place.
All the games will be played at 14:00 CEST at BeyondTheSummit
Group A finished two weeks ago with TongFu ending up in the first place, followed by LGD and iG respectively as 2nd and 3rd. Vici Gaming finished 4th and For.Love 5th. Both teams' places in the tournament are insecure and they will have to play in the relegation playoffs. This might be difficult for VG who are currently with a 4-man roster after the departure of Xun Tao 'Xtt' Xu. It is expected that the team will announce their new player before the start of the playoffs.
Format
1. Regular season: 2 groups. BO3 round robin group stage; First place auto qualifies, group 2nd and 3rd will play additional games (not sure about this part)
2. Playoffs: Mini double elimination bracket. Second placer of the groups will play each other to secure their spot in the semi-finals. A3 and B3 will also play one another and the winner of the third placer games, will have to play the loser of the second placer games. Example: G-1 League phase 3.
3. Semi finals: BO5 single elimination
4. Finals: BO5
5. Relegation match: 4th and 5th placer of the groupstage will play a BO1 double elimination bracket. The loser of this will be evaluated for participation in the next season.
