The second day of Dreamhack Summer felt kind of slow at first. The groupstage games weren't as exciting as people wanted them to be and a few delays here and there kept it dragging on.
We finally released our kSi interview, conducted interviews with Ayesee and twista in the morning. I was looking for Dignitas as well, but I kinda missed them all the time and when I did find them, I was actually conducting an interview with s4, followed by Fata. I'm still considering uploading a blooper reel because for some reason my mind was messed up today. The interviews still turned out good I think.
Anyway, during the whole day, I mostly just took pictures, which was kinda hard due to bad lighting and you don't really want to use the flash. I also talked to pro players about their opinions on teams, drafts and ongoing games. Fans joined the discussion as well and it was really cool. I also got recognized for my interviews, felt really good. So shootout to Kevin!
The fans in general impressed me. Of course the stage was disappointing, but as you can see in our crowd reaction, that didn't stop the fans from watching the games. Lots of chairs were dragged to the area, people sat in the CS:GO and SCII areas to watch the games and there were tons of people watching from behind the players backs as well, cheering their favorites on. So the atmosphere was and is still great. So what Dota 2 lacked in numbers, the fans made up with passion.
Speaking of passion, some teams are really passionate during their games, really emotional and when you mention the word emotional, v1lat is not far away. That man constantly drew the attention of multiple press people, even non-dota press stood behind his back and watched the game. Incredible aura.
I'm going to keep it short today, because it was a long day, which ended with me sharing a cab with v1lat - can't get enough of the man! (Okay, I missed my bus...by 2 hours)
