GProxy++, the reconnection tool

Now that the test version of the reconnection software has gone live, it's only a matter of time until it spreads to most popular platforms

As you may remember, IceFrog himself has announced this some time ago - and it's finally launched! Of course, this is the earliest possible phase of it, but given time, it should spread far and become everyone's trusty ally.

For those who haven't heard about it already, GProxy++, created by Varlock, is a third-party program that should allow DotA players to get back in games they have lost connection with. According to the creator's post, it works by attempting to reconnect to the server every 10 seconds, while the other players will see the familiar "Drop players" screen.

For a game to be protected by GProxy++, both the host and the players need to have the software installed. In your LAN screen, the games displayed in blue will represent the secured ones, while the white-colored games will remain unaffected. For now, it works only on battle.net, specifically on GHost++ servers, but we are informed that numerous platforms, with Garena among them, have started working on implementing it. It should be mentioned that Throneit.com and DotaPub.net already support it! Since it's open-source, programmers can use it for their own software as well, or work on improving it, meaning that GProxy++ will probably have a rapid evolution. We can guess that the tool will be able to work for other WCIII maps, with some work, but that's still just a guess.

Now, it is known and stated that this is an early release, so bugs, glitches and crashes are likely to happen, but that's the trial by fire all software has to pass. All such inconveniences should be reported to the developer, so don't shy away, you'll be actually helping! Best of luck to all who plan to use it, and thanks to Varlock, for breathing some life back into the aging Warcraft III.
