The Gathering with over 6,000€ prize pool for DotA

SGamer reports that the prize pool for the DotA tournament at The Gathering sums up to 6,410 Euro.

Tickets for a computer place and entry to The Gathering cost 102 Euro (842 NOK). The organization offer progamer tickets to other games, but not for DotA as it is proclaimed a BYOC tournament.

DotA players who have been in contact with GosuGamers has earlier expressed their disappointment in the heavy costs in sending a complete team to an offline event with a BYOC based tournament system. The costs were, in most cases, considered too high in relation to the prize pool.

The LAN event is taking place from March 31 to April 4 at Vikingskipet, Hamar, in Norway.
