Kuroky replaces Maelk for SMM after all

The SMM Grand National Tournament in Malaysia should be his last big hit in his DotA career. But as officially announced today, Maelk will not make it to the tournament most DotA fans are looking for. Kuroky will be his standin.

In an interview a few weeks ago, Jacob 'Maelk' Toft-Andersen announced his retirement from DotA and stated, the upcoming SMM will be his last official tournament.

But as officially announced today at myMYM.com, due to personal and work commitments he is not able to attend at the event.

Maelk has stepped back from the professional DotA for a few weeks now and has not been seen in many official games. The latest addition of MYM, Kuro 'Kuroky' Salehi Takhasomi will take his spot and try to lead his team to victory, as he did today in the thrilling final of the Farm4Fame 2.1 final against Fnatic.

- "Jacob told us that he is not able to go to SMM, so I have to jump in for him", Kuroky says in the official statement. "I am very happy to get this chance to participate in a great tournament like SMM."

The young German further explains that he personally has no problem to play with the Danes, both on a game and a social level. This, despite his lack of practice together.
- "I feel very comfortable playing with the MYM guys, although we didn't play much together, I already see the potential in our team, and I get along with them very well. I hope we can bring the title home."

Looking realistic on the teams chances, Salehi does provide his fans with a slight insecurity, believing that the Asian squads may come on on top.
- "I believe we go there as underdogs, the Asians are going to be ready and very well prepared, that's why I am really looking forward to playing them, it will be very interesting and fun for sure."

- "Watch out everybody, we will be ready to fight you", Kuro ends.
