FURIA, BIG and Cloud9 end the day in the 2-0 group, while NAVI and Team Liquid are in the 1-1 group.
Day 5 at IEM Rio Major kicked off with the Legends Stage, the second of the three stages. 16 teams are battling to see who will be in the top eight to qualify for the Champions Stage later in the week. 8 teams from the Challengers stage are now battling against 8 seeded teams in a 5-round Swiss System.
A notable win from Round 1 was NAVI beating Team Vitality in overtime – 25-21. Other big names that also won include Team Spirit, Heroic, FURIA and Fnatic. From the Challengers Stage, Cloud9, BIG and MOUZ each also picked up a win to put them in the top 10 teams in the Legends table.
In Round 2, the sixteen teams are split into Highs and Low teams, with the teams in each grouping hoping to pick up a win for themselves. In the High Matches, the top four teams are BIG, Cloud9, FURIA and Heroic. The biggest surprises here are NAVI losing to Cloud9, and Team Spirit being beaten by FURIA.
The Low Matches saw Team Liquid, Team Vitality, ENCE and Outsiders emerging as winners. Team Vitality beat FaZe Clan, and Outsiders beat Ninjas in Pyjamas in their respective matches.
With the completion of Round 2, the sixteen teams are further split into three groups for Round 3. The High Matches are teams with 2-0 scores – Heroic will fight Cloud9 while FURIA, carrying on as a local favourite, will go against BIG. The Mid Matches will have NAVI go against Team Liquid, MOUZ will battle Team Vitality, Team Spirit go against Outsiders and ENCE will fight Fnatic.
The Low Matches are for teams that have not gained a single win, and where the losers will be knocked out of the competition. FaZe Clan will meet Bad News Eagles while Sprout will meet Ninjas in Pyjamas. The big surprise here is FaZe Clan is stuck in the 0-2 group along with Sprout – Legend Stage seeded teams.
The first Round 3 match will begin in less than 12 hours, as of publication time, between Heroic and Cloud9.
