ECS Season 3 - Teams for season finals determined

Four teams from each ECS Season 3 region have secured their spots at the season finals.

There are still some matches left to be played in the regular season of ECS Season 3 but mathematically, no team can overtake te top-4 sides in both the European and North American divisions. The current top-4 teams form both regions will be present at the season finals in London on June 23rd - 25th.

In Europe, FaZe and Astralis put on a better showing than they did in ESL Pro League and qualified for the finals. G2 and Fnatic complete the European finalists of ECS Season 3. These four teams will be in London at the end of the month but their seeding may still change as G2 still have a series to play against Virtus.pro. The Frenchmen have a record of ten wins in sixteen maps and a victory versus VP will carry them to the third place, moving Fnatic to fourth.

Across the ocean, all matches are done in North America and to nobody's major surprise Cloud9, SK Gaming, Liquid and OpTic were the most successful four teams. The Season 3 Finals will be a third consecutive finals for the Brazilians of SK Gaming and Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert's Cloud9. After missing out one of the previous two seasons Liquid, OpTic, FaZe and Fnatic are all ready for their second ECS Finals along with G2 players who attended one finals with either EnVyUs or G2 prior to the latest French shuffle, meaning all finalist teams in London will hava experience at ECS Season Finals.

Looking to players, there will be two ECS Finals rookies, one per region: Nikola "NiKo" Kova? and Jason "jasonR" Ruchelski. NiKo missed previous finals with mousesports but this time around, he will be ready to fight for the title with FaZe while former Splyce player jasonR will be looking to help OpTic impress as they did last season when the Green Wall made it all the way to the grand final before falling short to Astralis.

These eight teams will be in search for their share of $750.000 prize pool in London from June 23rd to June 25th:
