Renegades win PGL Asia Minor Championship, TyLoo gets second

The Australian team beat out Chinese superstars TyLoo to claim $30,000 and the Championship title.

In a tough best-of-three, Renegades were able to overcome TyLoo to win the PGL Asian Minor Championship. TyLoo first clashed with the Austrailians in the Semifinals, where Renegades beat them 2-1. The Chinese team was down but certainly not out, fighting off Flash Gaming and Team Immunity with 2-0 scores in the Loser's Brackets to earn their spot in the Grand Finals.

The Grand Final started out on Mirage, where BnTet and DD gave TyLoo the edge, overcoming a 0:4 deficit in the early rounds of the match to outplay Renegades and be one map away from winning the best-of-three. Renegades bounced back on Cache, however, keeping up with TyLoo in the first half, then running away with the map in the second. The third map, Cobblestone, went into Overtime, but eventually Renegades were able to overcome TyLoo's defenses and win the series in a reverse sweep, 2-1.

TyLoo doesn't go home empty-handed, however; the team snatched $15,000 in second-place earnings, while Australian squad Team Immunity earned $5,000 and the third place spot.
