Misfits benches ShahZam, replaced by caiozqk

ShahZaM was unable to commit to moving into the gaming house, and therefore was replaced.

Misfits announced via Twitter yesterday that Shahzeeb "ShahZaM" Khan would be sitting out of the Americas Minor Championship, opting for someone who can join their gaming house. He'll be replaced by Caio "zqk" Fonseca, a former Selfless gaming player.

Both ShahZam and the organization assured fans that it "it has nothing to do with personality/conflict or anything in-game." The only issue seems to be the fact that he couldn't commit to the gaming house for personal reasons.

"It's in the best interest to have someone present which will yield the most productive bootcamp possible as we focus on this event," a follow-up tweet to the announcement said. "To be clear: Shazaam [sic] is benched and @caiozqk is trailing for us starting at the minor."

ShahZaM helped Misfits get 10th in the ESL Pro League Season 5 NA tournament, as well as the 3-4 range in DreamHack Tours 2017. zqk has played for both The Foundation and Selfless Gaming within the past year, helping Selfless to qualify for DreamHack Austin and snatching 13th place for The Foundation in ESL Pro League Season 5.

The announcement comes just five days before the $50,000 tournament, where Misfits will take on North American greats like Cloud9, compLexity Gaming, Luminosity Gaming, and Counter Logic Gaming. The tournament will take place at Santa Ana's Esports arena from June 8 to June 11.
