DreamHack Summer 2017 - Cloud9 finalise direct invites

Cloud9 are the last team to receive a direct invite to this year's edition of DreamHack Summer.

Cloud9 finalise the list of direct invites to DreamHack Summer 2017, with six teams announced thus far. The $100,000 tournament will feature a total of eight participants - six invited, two qualified. As per DreamHack tradition it will be hosted at the familiar Elmia Convention Centre in Jönköping, Sweden on June 17th-19th. In regards to formatting, DreamHack Summer 2017 will be in line with other DreamHack ASTRO Open events, seeing a best-of-one group stage with best-of-three decider matches, culminated by single-elimination, best-of-three play-offs.

Following is a table containing all currently known participants of DreamHack Summer 2017:

Cloud9 have shown decent form as of late. Most of their recent performances were online, where the team showed strong results. To name a few, Cloud9 managed to finish fifth in ESL Pro League Season 5 league play, securing a LAN finals spot at the Verizon Theatre in Dallas, Texas. Shortly after this achievement the team was seen performing at the Subaru Invitational 2017, where somewhat surprisingly, Cloud9 were able to secure a flawless run, not conceding a single map over the entirety of the online tournament, which included a grand final match-up against none other than one of the best teams in the world and back-to-back major titles holders, SK Gaming. If Cloud9 are able to transfer this performance onto a LAN setting, things are looking up for the North American favourites.
