DreamHack Summer 2017 - Immortals receive direct invite

The Brazilian squad is the fifth team announced for the tournament.

Brazilian team Immortals has been invited to DreamHack Summer 2017, DreamHack announced yesterday. The team is the fifth team overall and the second to hail from Brazil, the other being SK Gaming

The team has had a roster change within the past week, with Lincoln "fnx" Lau being benched due to "internal issues that... affected in-game performance." His position has been temporarily filled by the team's coach, Rafael “zakk” Fernandes. Most recently, Immortals took third-fourth place in the Subaru Invitational, losing to SK Gaming with a 0-2 map score. To add to recent results, the team was able to secure second place at DreamHack Austin 2017, where they fell against Gambit Esports in the grand final.

DreamHack Summer 2017 is now halfway through with announcing participating teams, with the others being SK Gaming, Gambit Esports, Fnatic and mousesports. A single team remains to be revealed in terms of direct invites, with two teams qualifying via an European and North American qualifier. Once all teams are determined they will all face off on June 17-20 for the lion's share of the $100,000 prize pool.
