The opening day of DreamHack Tours 2017 saw mousesports and HellRaisers topping their groups to advance to the semi-final.
Group A
de_Train - 16:5 (12:3, 4:2)
Group A kicked off with Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev's Na'Vi taking on Misfits and their new intercontinental roster. Playing as the CT side, Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács' double-kill secured his team the first pistol round. Building onto their early advantage, Na'Vi went on to win four more rounds before Misfits finally got on board. A couple of rounds went back and forth but GuardiaN's 1v2 clutch in the 10th round made it 8-2. The CIS-based team lost just a single round in the remainder of the half and entered the half-time 12-3 ahead.
Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan's triple-kill in the second pistol round wasn't enough to start a comeback for Misfits as Na'Vi struck back and won four of the following five rounds, clenching the victory 16-5.
Heroic vs. 
mousesports
de_Cobblestone - 10:16 (4:11, 6:5)
In the second match of Group A, Heroic and mousesports clashed to determine the team to face Na'Vi in the winners match of the group. Jakob "JUGi" Hansen's triple-kill won the first pistol round for Heroic, however their lead didn't last long as mousesports' hot prospect Robin "ropz" Kool killed three in the third round to win it for the European mixture. With their first round secured, mousesports started to dominate the half and went on to lead 11:4 at halftime.
The second half saw Heroic slowly catching up with their opponents, but at 13:10, Denis "denis" Howell's quad-kill made the score 14-10. mousesports managed to win the following two rounds to close out the map.
de_Mirage - 3:16 (3:12, 0:4)
Christian "loWel" Garcia Antoran's quad-kill in the first pistol round signaled mousesports lead but as it turned out, loWel and co. didn't just win the game, they crushed their Eastern European opponents. Led by loWel and denis, mousesports entered halftime 12:3 ahead. Tomáš "oskar" Š?astný's triple-kill in the second pistol round was more than enough for mousesports to defeat Na'Vi and advance to the semi-finals with the 16:3 scoreline.
Group B
G2 Esports vs. Tricked eSports
de_Inferno - 7:16 (5:10, 2:6)
The last minute replacement for the event, Tricked, made the biggest surprise of the day by defeating G2 in the opening match of Group B. Tricked started the match by securing an early lead followed by Johannes "b0RUP" Borup and Patrick "es3tag" Hansen's incredible entry-frags in the middle portion of the half. Despite G2's occasional round wins, Tricked managed to lead by 5 rounds at halftime. The second half was no different than the prior and Tricked secured the surprising victory easily, at 16:7.
HellRaisers vs. EnVyUs
de_Cache - 16:5 (10:5, 6:0)
The second match of Group B started with HellRaisers winning the first pistol round as the CT side but EnVyUs didn't let them extend the gap. After six rounds, the French-Belgian squad was leading by two but HellRaisers tightened up their defense, won almost all of the remaining rounds of the half to secure a five round lead at 10:5.
In the second half, Alexandre "xms" Forté and Cédric "RpK" Guipouy continued to struggle and HellRaisers exploited EnVyUs' weaknesses, winning all six rounds of the half to reach the victory with the 16:5 scoreline.
Tricked vs. HellRaisers
de_Train - 13:16 (11:4, 2:12)
Tricked and HellRaisers battled to secure the first place in Group B. Early rounds of the match saw a balance between the teams and after ten rounds, there was a small lead for Tricked at 6:4. The Danes, especially b0RUP who clutched a 1v2 situation in the 15th round, improved their performance each round in the remainder of the half and secured a 7-round lead at halftime.
In the second half it was HellRaisers' time to control the game as Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow's team went on to even the score at 12:12. ANGE1 clutched two rounds in a row to make it 14:12 and after gaining momentum, HellRaisers stole the victory from Tricked 16:13.
