PGL Major Kraków 2017 - Americas Minor Championship announcement

CS:GO Aleksei “Aleksei.L” Louchnikov

PGL have announced details regarding the second of the Minor Championship Series, the Americas Minor Championship.

Following the recent Europe Minor Championship announcement (dates have been adjusted to avoid overlap with European qualifier for ESL One: Cologne 2017), PGL have followed up with details regarding the second of qualifiers - the Americas Minor Championship. Contrary to its European counterpart, the Americas minor will feature open qualifiers for two regions - South America and North America. The two will be separate entities, with the former offering a single slot at the LAN finals of the PGL Minor without a closed qualifier, whilst the latter will see eight teams advance from the open qualifier to the closed qualifier to fight it out for a total of five slots at the LAN finals of the PGL Americas Minor. Another distinction outlined between the Europe and Americas Minor Championships is that two direct invites have been allocated to the Americas, as Brazil Immortals have already accepted their invite, whilst the second team is currently yet to be announced. The tournament will offer the same $50,000 in prize pool money, as well as two spots at the main qualifier for the PGL Major Kraków 2017.

Below we presents a concise version of all of the aforementioned, coupled with scheduling for the open and closed qualifiers:
