StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 3 Semifinal - Astralis take out Na'Vi, advance to Grand Final

Na'Vi almost had a comeback on Nuke, but it wasn't enough to take out Astralis.

de_overpass - 8:16 (4:11; 4:5)

Astralis took the first pitsol round due to Na'Vi running out of time to plant the bomb, but GuardiaN's 4k assured that Na'Vi would establish themselves in the fight early on. Despite that good work's work, the home team had to hard eco into the third round and almost took down Astralis with pistols, but couldn't quite pull it off. Now packed with rifles, deV1CE took massive damage from seized with a wallbang within the first three seconds of the fourth round, starting off a chain reaction that allowed Na'Vi their first point of the match. The loss caused an eco round for Astrailis and earned another point for Na'Vi, who was now trailing by one. Astralis bought in the next round, though, which allowed them to strengthen their lead when Na'Vi failed to plant the bomb in time. Na'Vi decided to rush Astrailis to get their third point of the map, while seized also denied an AWP save by taking down deV1CE shortly after the bomb was planted. This proved to be costly next round, with Astrailis losing all but one man while Na'Vi didn't drop any.

Lack of communication caused Na'Vi to drop the ninth round and give Astralis the lead once again, prompting Na'Vi to take a Tactical Pause. Unfortunately for them, deV1CE got a triple kill - including a wallbang headshot just as flamie was planting the bomb - which pushed the Astralis lead to three. Despite a very nice flickshot from GuardiAN in the 11th round, Na'Vi couldn't push back the Astralis tide for consecutive rounds, allowing Astralis to widen the point gap by eight. Despite getting slightly overconfident in the last round of the half - with KJAERBYE getting knifed by a teammate at the start of the round - Astralis keep their momentum going into the halftime break, currently winning 4:11.

Na'Vi took the second pistol round, but the comeback dream would be quickly squashed by Astralis, who took the next five rounds before Na'Vi without reply. It almost seemed like Na'Vi could come back into the game, picking up three rounds before Astralis was able to pull back a round. dupreeh gets a triple kill and a headshot to close out the map, with Astralis picking up the win in the 24th round.

de_nuke - 10:16 (4:11; 6:5)

Astralis barely took the first pistol round, but that narrow intial victory wasn't enough to hold back Na'Vi in the second round, with flamie and seized both getting double kills to tie up the map. Gla1ve answered back with a triple in the third round, pushing Astralis ahead of Na'Vi by one, before Xyp9x and DEV1CE cleaned up Na'Vi in the fourth round, getting a triple and double kill respectively to further Astralis' lead. Another failed Na'Vi push made them call for a Tactical Pause.

The Tactical Pause once again has no bearing on the next round, with Astralis only dropping one person in the next round. Once again, Na'Vi calls for a Tactical Pause. Once again, it did not work, as deV1CE grabbed a double kill quickscope through the smoke on seized and GaurdiaN to take the eigth round. Na'Vi were finally able to get their second point in the eleventh round, but were still desperately behind, 1:9. Though Na'Vi showed some signs of life towards the end of the first half, Astralis still had a commanding lead at 4:11.

Gla1ve grabbed a triple with a clutch kill against GuardiaN to win the second pistol round for Astralis. Edward tried to be a hero with a nice backstab on the bomb-weilding KAJERBYE and a follow-up frag on Xypx9x, but that wasn't enough for Na'Vi to pull back the momentum in the their favor in the seventeenth round. Na'Vi started to pull back and it seemed the comeback could happen, thanks in part to seized heroics in multiple fights. Astralis were the ones to call a Tactical Pause now, having lost the last five rounds and bringing the score to 10:13.

The Tactical Pause seemed to work for them, with Astralis taking the next round to widen their lead back to four. It was the opening Astralis needed to close out the map, with Xypx9x getting the final kill on s1mple to close out the match.

Astralis moves on to take on FaZe in the Grand Final.
