Team Secret added another victory to their list of recent accomplishments this weekend as they defeated Selfless Gaming at the ESWC 2016 Female Championships.

Secret fe, the European team that has looked indomitable this year, winning Copenhagen Games 2016 in March and the StarLadder Female Stars Championship in June, added another title to their already impressive resume as they toppled the North American squad, Selfless Gaming fe and took the $7,000 prize at the ESWC 2016 Female Championships.

The first map played was Mirage, with Secret starting on the CT side. Selfless started off strong by taking the pistol round and converting the following two ecos. Secret performed better in the gun rounds however, keeping their opponents economy low and winning the first with a 9-6 lead. In the second half, Secret took the pistol and ensuing eco rounds, and despite Selfless taking a few rounds of their own, the European squad closed out the map 16-9.

The second map played was Selfless’s pick Overpass. The North American roster got off to a good start by taking the T-side pistol and the following save rounds. Throughout the rest of the half, Selfless was in full control as they repeatedly bested their European counterparts to post an impressive 10-5 lead at halftime. In the second half, Selfless again took the pistol round and went quickly to 13-5, conceding only two more rounds before taking the map 16-7.

On the final and deciding map, Train, Secret managed to take the CT pistol round and clean up the following eco rounds from Selfless. The European team didn’t stop there, winning the first gun round and maintaining a stranglehold on the Selfless economy throughout the first half allowed them to post a staggering 13-2 lead by halftime. Despite losing the much needed pistol round, Selfless put up a fight in the second half, but it was too little too late as Secret finally took the map 16-6 and the series 2-1.
