OpTic Gaming qualify for ESL One: New York 2016

OpTic Gaming have secured a placement at the upcoming ESL One: New York 2016, after outperforming none other than Cloud9.

OpTic Gaming have secured the final slot at ESL One: New York 2016 after defeating Cloud9 in a best of three series. The series saw a total of three maps - de_Train, de_Overpass and de_Cobblestone. The teams went very close on de_Train and de_Overpass, where OpTic managed to take away the former 16:14 and Cloud9 secured the latter 16:13; however when the time came to de_Cobblestone the NA favourites dropped the ball, falling short to OpTic at 16:6. The green wall proceeds to the LAN finals of ESL One: New York 2016.

ESL One: New York 2016 is a $250,000 prize pool event taking place on September 30th through October 2nd. The event will feature eight of the finest teams from Europe and the Americas. Six teams were invited, whilst two teams were admitted via the European and North American regional qualifiers - Astralis and OpTic Gaming. Format-wise the group stage will see a Swiss group stage, followed by single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs.
