The second semi-final of the Gfinity CS:GO Invitational in Birmingham, UK saw mousesports and GODSENT go head to head in a best-of-five matchup. Mousesports was the first team to veto a map, removing Train, while GODSENT chose to ban Nuke. Mousesports then chose Cache and Dust II, and GODSENT picked Mirage and Overpass, with Cobblestone to be the deciding map.
The first map played was mousesports' pick, Cache, with GODSENT starting out on the CT side. The Swedes managed to win the pistol round and takea 3-0 lead early on, but mousesports hit back even harder, taking nine of the next twelve rounds to secure a 9-6 lead going into the second half. GODSENT once again took the pistol round and ensuing ecos from their opponents, tying the game up at 9-9. Mousesports faced the same CT side difficulties as GODSENT, managing to win only two rounds before their adversaries closed out the map with a final score of 16-11.
On the second map, Mirage, mousesports again started on the T side, this time winning the pistol round and taking a 5-0 lead before the CTs were able to answer back with one of their own. The offense from mousesports continued to get the better of the Swedish side, relinquishing only two more rounds in the first half and netting them a comfortable 12-3 lead. With a second pistol round victory for mousesports, the map seemed all but over, and though GODSENT were able to win a couple of rounds, it simply wasn't enough. Mousesports finished out the map, winning mirage in convincing fashion, 16-5.
With the series tied up, 1-1, the two teams headed into the third map, Dust II. The Swedes, starting on the T side this time, began putting up a strong first half, despite losing the pistol round, before mousesports clawed their way back to finish only one round down, 7-8. The score would stay close well into the second half, where mousesports nearly reached map point at 14-11 before GODSENT tied the game back up and eventually secured overtime. Mousesports didn't falter though, and won the third map in the first OT with a final score of 19-17.
Overpass, GODSENT's pick for the fourth map, saw the series continue its T-sided ways. Though they lost the pistol round on the T side, mousesports powered forward taking a stunning 13-2 lead in the first half. GODSENT was unable to respond as mousesports took the second pistol and the next two rounds to win the map 16-2, and take the match 3-1.
