E-Frag have announced that Team Canada will be replacing Team USA at The World Championships 2016.
E-Frag announced the news some days ago following the revelation that Team USA hadn't produced a roster within the deadline for submission, therefore forfeiting the team's spot at TWC 2016. Replacing them will be Team Canada, whose roster isn't decided yet either. A total of three spots remain to be filled before all teams are decided for the LAN Finals tournament. All three spots will be filled by European teams via the European Qualifier, where representatives of each country will fight for their right to represent it at the LAN finals of the tournament.
As a reminder, The World Championships 2016 is a $100,000 prize pool event, held in Belgrade, Serbia on October 6th-9th. Eight teams from various countries across the world will battle in a bid to secure the lion's share of the purse. The prize distribution for the event is as follow:
1st place - $50,000
2nd place - $25,000
3rd place - $10,000
4th place - $5,000
5th-8th places - $2,500
