Immortals seize Champions' title at Northern Arena

The Brazilian roster of Immortals has successfully secured first place at the Toronto-based Northern Arena tournament.?

Immortals, a Brazilian team composed of some of the finest professional CS:GO players from the South American region have secured first place at the Northern Arena tournament after overcoming North America's Cloud9. The series went to three maps, two of which were subsequently taken by Immortals. The team goes away with bragging rights as Champions, as well as $50,000 in their purse.

De_Cobblestone - 6:9, 10:3 (16:12)

Kicking off on the CT side of Cobble, Immortals show a decent start to the series. The North American representatives were able to breach their defences on multiple occasions, however this seemingly didn't phase the team, as they were more focused on the second half of the affair. Cloud9 take the first half 9:6.

In the second half it was clear that the impact of Wilton "zews" Prado was significant as his role as coach during his time at both ex-Luminosity Gaming and SK Gaming had amounted to a wealth of knowledge on various top tier CS:GO teams. The Brazilians effectively read Cloud9, leading to a solid 16:12 finish.

De_Train - 9:6,4:10 (13:16)

Cloud9 step their game up during the second map of the series, where the Americans kick off on the T side. The initial half saw a satisfactory performance, where Cloud9 were able to, on occasion, set back Immortals a few rounds. Despite these efforts, the Brazilians made sure they secured a lead on their CT side, culminating in a 9:6 favour towards them.

In the second half Cloud9 demonstrated a stellar performance, where the team was able to fend off and outperform Immortals. Round went by and the Americans slowly amassed a lead, from which the Brazilians had no way to come back. Cloud9 pushed the series into map three with a 16:13 finish.

De_Overpass - 6:9, 10:2 (16:11)

The final map of the series saw eventual victors, Immortals, demonstrate a firm initial half. The team was able to successfully push onto bombsites and secure plants, leaving the Americans to react. So they did, meaning the score leaned towards Cloud9 upon half time, at 9:6.

To finalise it, Immortals kicked into gear and started to hoard rounds. They didn't leave any room for breathing for the Americans, leaving them in an up-hill struggle against a boulder named "Immortals". In the end, the boulder overweighed the pusher and Immortals took away the third, and final map of the series, securing the Champions title with a 16:11 finish.
