
ESL San Paulo revealed
ESL has announced their first ever Brazilian CS:GO tournament this week with its reveal of a new standalone event in the country: ESL San Paulo. Specifics of the tournament are yet to be disclosed, but is currently slated for October of this year.
HeatoN inducted into Esports Hall of Fame
The Esports Hall of Fame has chosen its first ever player this week with their announcement that they will be inducting Emil "HeatoN" Christensen, one of the founding members of the Ninjas in Pyjamas and considered to be one of the greatest Counter-Strike players of all time. The organization aims to highlight some of the greatest players through all eSports titles, as well as serve as a way to preserve the history of those games, both past and present.
Alpha Gaming drops roster
Danny "BERRY" Krüger's CS:GO team is now organization-less following their announcement this week that they have parted ways with Alpha Gaming, the team the roster had been playing under since late March. According to the departing team, the decision to cut ties came down to an inability to come to a consensus on renewed contract terms. The team has experienced moderate success during their time with Alpha, landing a number of top eight finishes in regional events such as the Danmark League and Hitbox Challenger Cup.
MVP signs new roster
MVP has decided to invest in a second roster this week, this one built from the ground up with Korean players hand selected by the team, including their first team's original coach as well as another successful 1.6 player, Keun-Chul "solo" Kang.
SKYLLA July to begin
The June SKYLLA CS:GO tournament concluded this week with Team AK47 coming out victorious against Slisk in the grand finals of the event, but the next one is already just around the corner with the official announcement of SKYLLA #2. The tournament will follow an adjusted format compared to the previous one, whereby there will only be one qualifier.
