SL i-League LAN final soon to start

Eight teams will compete in Kiev, Ukraine at the SL Invitation LAN finals for a chance to win $50,000.

Starting next week (Thursday, the 19th) Kiev, Ukraine will host the SL i-League LAN finals at their beautiful NSK Olimpiyskiy sports arena. Eight teams will be participating in the event, with some chosen and others placed via online qualifiers. The tournament will be entirely BO3 elimination, upper bracket and lower bracket, with the deciding match granting $50,000 to the winner.

The schedule for the event is as follows:

Thursday, May 19th:

  • Match 1 - HellRaisers vs SK starts at 9:00
  • Match 2 - Virtus.Pro vs Born of Fire starts at 9:00
  • Match 3 - Loser of HR/SK vs Loser of VP/Born of Fire starts at 12:00
  • Match 4 - FlipSid3 vs Godsent starts at 15:00
  • Match 5 - Na'Vi vs ex-CSGL starts at 15:00

Friday, May 20th:

  • Match 6 - Loser of Flip/Godsent vs loser of Na'Vi/ex-CSGL starts at 9:00
  • Match 7 - Winner of HR/SK vs winner of VP/Born of Fire starts at 12:00
  • Match 8 - Winner of Flip/Godsent vs winner of Na'Vi/ex-CSGL starts at 18:00

Saturday, May 21st:

  • Match 9 - Starts at 9:00
  • Match 10 - Starts at 12:00
  • Match 11 - Starts at 18:00

Sunday, May 22nd:

  • Match 12 - Starts at 9:00
  • Match 13 - Starts at 12:00
  • Final - Starts at 18:00

In an interview with VP's coach Jakub "kuben" Gurcynzki - hosted by Starladder, Jakub remarked on Ukraine's capital city:
"It’s always a pleasure to visit Kiev. It was a second home for us in the past, while I was playing. Thanks to the invitation we received, we can come once again to this beautiful city."

If this is any indication of the past we should expect good things from VP, being that the crowd is widely considered to be their 6th teammate.
