ESEA announces Global Challenge LAN

The ESEA Global Challenge LAN is a project aimed at bringing underdeveloped regions the opportunity to get their teams into international competition.

After the success of teams such as Tyloo at DreamHack Malmo, and TempoStorm in the ESEA Premier division, we want to grow the worldwide footprint of CS:GO. said Brett Sheffield, Product Manager at ESEA.

The tournament will feature $50k in prizes and will compensate for all travelling expenses of the teams. This will facilitate the process that up-and-coming teams have to go through in order to get themselves known on the big stage.

More teams than usual will have the chance to compete, as more regions than ever will be able to access the event:
2 teams from North America (Top 2 Premier)
2 teams from Europe (Top 2 Premier)
1 team from Brazil (Regional Winner)
1 team from Australia (Regional Winner)
1 team from Asia (Regional Winner)
1 team TBA

The prizes will be divided like this:
1st:  $18.000
2nd: $10.000
3rd: $5.000
4th: $5.000
5th-8th: $3.000
