The first day of Global Esports Cup is behind us and here are the most important things which have marked the first day.

The LAN finals of Global Esports Cup have kicked off today with the Group A being played. The four teams were placed inside the GSL group where only two could advance to the playoffs.
The biggest battle was seen between Team EnVYUs and Counter Logic Gaming, which was the first of the two times that the French and North American teams have met today. The first, opening match was a very entertaining one. CLG was the first to take a lead, following their 16-12 win on de_overpass. However, the French guys have quickly returned the favour and scored their map win on de_cache, by crushing their opponents 16-6. The final map saw a very close battle where EnVyUs came out on the top with 16-13.
The second pair featured FlipSid3 Tactics and Team Dignitas. This match went into the favour of Dignitas, where we could see almost replicated maps. The game was opened on de_inferno, where Dignitas managed to score a 13-2 CT side, but FlipSid3 was still close to a comeback, when they were finally shutted with 16-13. The second map was played on de_cobblestone and it was almost identical, with the exception that the final score was 16-12.
In the losers match, Counter Logic Gaming didn't have much issue with FlipSid3, as the CIS team showed resistance only during the first map. On de_inferno we saw a very close battle which was capitalized by CLG, for 16-14. However, the second map was totally one sided, with the score of 16-4.
Finally, the 2nd place deciding match saw Team EnVyUs and Counter Logic Gaming crossing their spears once again. The match was opened again on de_overpass, and CLG was the team which won it again. The second map was de_cache, which is considered as one of the best maps for the French team, which they proved by crushing CLG 16-4 on it. This heavy loss on de_cache destabilized CLG as they just couldn't wake up, and the same thing happened to them once again on de_cobblestone, where they lost again with the same score of 16-4.
