Planetkey release CS:GO team after disqualification

Following the team's disqualification from the Europe Rising Stars event, Planetkey has announced the release of the entire roster.

Planetkey's roster has found itself without a home following their disqualification from E-frag.net's Europe Rising Stars series. It all comes in a whirlwind of events that began with the team winning the series and securing the $2,000 prize for first place. Following accusations of dubious play from ALTERNATE's Oliver "kzy" Heck on his Facebook, E-frag.net admins and professional players pored over demos from the match between ALTERNATE and Planetkey but were not able to find conclusive evidence of cheating on Planetkey's part.

However, E-frag.net, with the assistance of CSGOLounge, had determined that two players from the Planetkey side, Thilo "syken" Phan and Koray "xall" Yaman, had violated the Rising Stars rules of play. The two players infraction was placing high bets on themselves in their match against Revival. The team as a whole was subsequently disqualified from the event and both Phan and Yaman have been banned from any future E-frag.net event.

To distance themselves from the controversy, Planetkey announced the release of the team in a Facebook statement today:

With immediate effect we are releasing our CS:GO team. In yesterday's final of the Europe Rising Stars tournament our players XALL and Syken clearly contradicted tournament rules by betting on themselves on CSGOLounge. This led to our subsequent disqualification from the tournament . We dissociate ourselves from the misconduct of the players and apologize to the other participants and fans.
