The second day of Gfinity Summer Masters I is live and the group A matches were first to open the day.
Both the winners and elimination matches were played at the same time. Titan and SK Gaming had their last chance to keep themselves still in the tournament, while Dignitas and NiP were fighting for the first seed and a spot at the playoffs.
Titan showed their dominancy right from the start. The first map was de_overpass and the French team took a very convincing 11-4 half. This was followed by a quick 5-1 on the T side for the final 16-5. SK might have been in shock after the conclusion of the first map, but they showed their real strength as the second one started. The Danes stricked back with 11-4 T half at de_cache which was more than impressive. But, this wasn't enough to shut the French power, as Titan made a huge comeback to win this map 16-13. SK Gaming is now out of the tournament, while Titan will be fighting in the deciding match for the second spot in the group and a place in the playoffs.
The winners match brought us a duel between two teams which had a flawless run during the first day. Both, Dignitas and NiP went 2-0 and it was really interesting what they got to show in this match. They started on NiP's pick, de_cache, where the Swedes showed a very good defense. They won 12 rounds on the CT side which was more than enough to close this map with 16-4. However, Dignitas didn't show any signs of weakness as the second map started. They quickly got themselves on the board with ten rounds on the T side. Since, this was their map of choice they didn't really struggle much to take it away with 16-9. However, the third map saw once again awaken NiP who dominated on T side, taking 9 rounds. Later on, it was quite simple for them to hold off and close this map with 16-9. NiP is now qualified for the playoffs, while Dignitas will look for theit spot against Titan in the deciding match.
The deciding match is scheduled to start at 19.00 CEST and it will be played at the same time as the deciding match of the group B.
