By completing only two out of eight planned playweeks the North American division is slowly heating up. The standings image has been shaped out and we already can see who will be fighting for the spot in the LAN finals and the cut of $500,000.

The only non-North American team playing in this division is the Brazilian squad Keyd Stars. The guys from Keyd have just recently moved to NA to be able to compete with the rest of the teams from this region. This move is showing some real success, as Keyd is already at the top of this division tied with Nihilum Gaming as they are the only two teams with an undefeated 4-0 score. If it wasn't a surprise to see Keyd taking the first place so early, than it is definitely a surprise for some to see Nihilum in such a good shape; it has been only two weeks since they underwent roster changes, and so far it looks like things have worked out rather well for them.

Cloud9 hasn't played as many games, but are also sitting at an undefeated 3-0 so far. Arguably being considered as the best North American team, Cloud9 has been struggling on the international plan for a while. Therefore, they decided to undergo the roster changes by removing two out five core players. With the new roster they were performing really well, scoring three wins from the same number of the games.

The top two teams have been undefeated so far, however, there is a trio of teams that are nipping at their heels: Counter Logic Gaming, eLevate and Luminosity Gaming. CLG has suffered their only defeat against Nihilum Gaming, which has put them down to a 4-1 record. On the other hand, eLevate and Luminosity Gaming are both one notch down with 4-2 scores.

At the bottom of the standings are ACE Gaming, mouseSpaz and affNity trio. All three teams are having a tough time by having 0-5 score which puts them far away from the rest of competitors in this division. They'll have to make drastic improvements if they are to somehow reach the top.

What's next? The North American division of ESL ESEA Pro League will return on Tuesday the 19th of May at 02.00 CEST, kicking off with the third playing-week. The highlighted match of the first day will be Counter Logic Gaming vs. eLevate. The both teams are currently sitting on the four wins and after this clash only one of them will be able to keep up with the leading duo.
