ACL Cyber League tourney to be held in Syndey

New Cyber League is set to begin at the end of June in Sydney, Australia featuring a $5,000 prize pool.

The Australian Cyber League will launch in a hall at the Macquarie University in Sydney on Saturday, June 27th and finsih the following day. The event will feature four seperate tournaments for games CS:GO, StarCraft II, CoD: Advanced Warfare, Halo 2.

CS:GO and CoD will include $5,000 - the largest prize pool offered for each tournament at the event, with StarCraft II featuring £2,500 and Halo 2 $1,500.

For the CS:GO tournament there will be two preceding qualifiers before the main event. The two qualifiers will both follow a format of four group brackets, with the first placed team of each bracket earning a spot at the main event.

The main event at the end of June will feature two groups of four teams who would have earned their place through the online qualifiers. The top four teams from each group in this stage will advance to the playoffs, which will itself see a single elimination format that will see all matches played in a best-of-three format.

The key dates for the qualifiers are listed below:

  • 23rd May - ACL Sydney Online Qualifier Day 1
  • 25th May - ACL Sydney Online Qualifier Day 2
