goRGN to host New Years Open CS:GO tournament

The Reliable Gaming Network has announced that they will be hosting a New Years Open Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament.

The tournament, which is set to feature 21 North American teams battling for a $625 grand prize, will kickoff tonight starting with two matches between Paradox eSports/Area51 and Kode/Ubinited.

Matt "dayV1D" David, CEO of the Reliable Gaming Network had the following to say about the event:

We here at RGN are thrilled to be bringing you yet another CS:GO tournament to start 2015 off right. The New Years Open has 21 highly talented CS:GO teams, featuring the likes of MouseSpaz, Torqued and SKDC, as well as a few mix/pug teams such as Riotsquad (AKA xile, winners of the RGN Summers End) all vying for 1st place bragging rights and 1250 US dollars. Teams will have two ways to make it to the finals, slugging it out in the upper bracket or fighting for survival in the lower bracket. The champions of both brackets will duke it out in the grand finals, with the Upper Bracket finalists sitting at an advantageous best of three lead. Shots will be fired, tears will be shed and in the end, a victor shall be declared! Will it be the favorites crowned as kings? Or will an underdog surprise us all and take home the gold and glory? Stay tuned and find out as we progess deeper and deeper into the RGN New Years Open.

This tournament is one of the few CS:GO tournaments that features a mix of female and male teams, so it will be interesting to see how the female teams will stack up against their male counterparts.

In addition, GosuGamers will be providing coverage for the quarter-finals and onwards of the event via our CS:GO matchticker which can also be found on the official Counter-Strike website and in-game client.
