Earlier today we reported that Virtus.pro had threatened to boycott events in 2015. ESEA has responded to the criticism on their website stating:
“
Today Virtus Pro released a statement about large amounts of prize money owed to the organization and wrongfully mentioned ESEA... Virtus Pro still has not turned in their bank account information for payment (they requested payment to a different bank account than to where their previous season’s winnings were sent). We followed up with the team’s manager on December 14, 18, and 22 but still have not gotten the bank account information for prize payment and still await the information.
”
Then a statement was released by Sneg, the Virtus.pro CEO, clarifying his position on the issue:
“
I am considering the Official ESEA reply to my Blog to be a misunderstanding, and we already discussed it privately... But FACT is a fact - there is no money.
”
There seems to have been reconciliation between the two parties, as ESEA reports that an acceptable account for payment for Virtus.pro has been provided and that the payments will be processed before the end of the year.
We will monitor the situation for any changes that may occur.
