Bad Monkey Gaming secured the third place at ESWC Female 2014 by defeating Reason Gaming 2-0. Team Karma and 3DMAX to play in the Grand Final match tomorrow.
The group stage of ESWC Female tournament was played yesterday, the top two teams of each move on to the playoffs. Group A was topped by Reason Gaming and Bad Monkey Gaming, where the both teams had two wins and one loss. However, Reason Gaming managed to beat BMG, which gave them the first seed. In Group B, 3DMAX finished at the first place undefeated, while Team Karma clutched the second spot with 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss.
In the first semi final match, Reason Gaming crushed Team Karma at the first map with the score of 16-2. The North American team managed to make a comeback by winning the next two maps with 16-10 and 16-5 which bought them a ticket for the grand finals. The other semi final match saw Bad Monkey Gaming taking on 3DMAX. The match was close, with the first map going to the Swedish team 16-14, however, the French team managed to comeback by taking the next two maps 16-10 and 16-13.
The third place decider kicked off on de_nuke with BMG starting on the less favored T side. This didn't stop them to win the half 9-6, and easily closed out the map 16-10. The second map was de_cache, Reason Gaming had a nice start by winning the first few rounds. However, BMG managed come back to get the lead at the end of the first half 9-6, and completely demolished Reason Gaming with their T side performance, finishing the map 16-7. With this win Bad Monkey Gaming secured third place and $2,000 prize money.
The Grand Final match between Team Karma and 3DMAX is scheduled to start tomorrow at 09.30 CET and it will feature a best-of-three series.
