iBuyPower has defeated LDLC to secure a spot at the FACEIT Season 2 LAN grand finals.
The North American team started the BO3 semi-finals on de_inferno, where they took an early lead starting on the CT side, winning 12 rounds compared to LDLC's 3 on the first half. However, LDLC managed to comeback and win 12 rounds of their own after winning 12 rounds of their own, forcing the first overtime at 15-15. A rediculous back and forth proceeded, forcing a double overtime and eventually even a triple overtime, before iBuyPower finally came on top winning the third overtime 6-2, ending the map 31-27.
The second map of the BO3 semi-finals was de_dust2, where iBuyPower again started on the more favoured T side of the map. The North American team again came up on top on the first half, winning 11 rounds compared to LDLC's four. iBuyPower went on to win the second pistol round as well two following anti-eco rounds, making the score 14-4. LDLC then began to mount a comeback, but iBuyPower eventually came out ahead. The map ended with iBuyPower securing a spot in the grand finals 16-12.
iBuyPower will now battle for a $20,000 grand prize in the grand finals against the winner of Virtus.pro vs Fnatic.
