CEVO Season 5 LAN finals Day 1 recap

The first day of CEVO Season 5 LAN finals has concluded and Clou9 is the first teamto reach the Grand Finals. iBUYPOWER and NetCode will play each other today for the second spot.

The opening day of CEVO Season 5 LAN finals kicked off today, held at the GXL Universe event in Philadelphia at the Philadelphia Expo Center. The initial match was between NetCode and iBUYPOWER, with dominating the duel with 2-0, winning both cache and dust2 without much hassle and moving to the Upper Bracket finals. The other duo was Cloud9 and Denial eSports. Cloud9, considered the main favorite of this event, showed a great performance by giving Denial only 11 rounds on both maps. Dust2 went to Cloud9 with the score of 16-3, while at inferno it was 16-3.

The Upper Bracket final match was delayed due a CS:GO official update which was released in the middle of this match. Cloud9 needed only two maps to secure the first spot in the Grand Finals. The picks were train and dust2. iBUYPOWER could not show further resistance and both maps had a similiar score - 16-6 and 16-7. The first elimination match at this finals saw Denial and Netcode fighting for a place in the consolidation finals. The initial map was de_inferno where Netcode reigned supreme with 16-3, but Denial managed to perform better in the following map de_season with a 16-14 score, but it was still not enough to save them from elimination.
