The first day of GameShow LAN finals has concluded and the Ukranian teams, HellRaisers and Natus Vincere, have both secured spots in the Upper Bracket finals.
The first day kicked off on schedule with the first match HellRaisers vs. myXMG. The statistics were against the Danish squad, but they put a great performance on the first map, de_overpass, closing the first half with 14-1 in their favor and finishing off with the 16-8 score. HellRaisers managed to come back on the second map, which was s1mple's favorite de_mirage, and easily overpowered myXMG with a 16-7 score. The deciding map was de_inferno and both teams were tied after the first half with the Danes having 7 rounds on a T side and the Ukranian team 8 on the CT. The second half was dominated by HellRaisers with 8-4, forging the total 16-11. Through their defeat, myXMG dropped down to the Lower Bracket, while HellRaisers will continue their UB journey.
The second duel of the first day saw Natus Vincere fighting Virtus.pro, who came to Moscow with MICHU who's replacing one of the most famous players on the scene, pasha. Na'Vi picked de_mirage, while Virtus.pro went for de_season and the third map was de_inferno. Probably the most interesting game of the first day was played during the initial map of this match, with Virtus.pro dominating the first half on CT side with 12-3 and Na'Vi making a comeback to even things out at 15-15. In the end, the Polish team proved stronger, finishing the match with a 19-16 score. The second map saw Virtus.pro beginning at CT side, but Na'Vi showed their better self and dominated the first half with a 6-9 score. Moving to CT, the Ukrainian won the pistol round and moved the flow of this duel in their favor. With Na'Vi winning the second battle with a 14-16 score, the outcome of the match had to be determined through de_inferno. The third map once again saw Na'Vi kicking off on T side and VP on CT, but this time Na'Vi completely crushed their opposition with 11-4. From that point, the Ukrainians found had no difficulty in closing this match during the second half at CT side with 16-7. Their next opponent will be HellRaisers in the Upper Bracket finals.
The second playday will begin tomorow with the Lower Bracket match between myXMG and Virtus.pro, scheduled to take place at 08.00 CEST. HellRaiser will face Natus Vincere in the Upper Bracket final at 12.00 CEST.
