SLTV announces the date, teams, map pool, and prize distribution for their upcoming Season XI LAN finals.
It has only been nine days since the SLTV StarSeries Season X LAN Finals took place in Kiev, Ukraine, where Fnatic beat the defending champions Na'Vi 3-2. Today, STLV has announced the new season of StarSeries, which will begin on September 12th.
The tournament will boast a large prize pool of $35,000, $8,000 of which will be used to cover travelling expenses for the LAN Finals. This is a $5,000 increase from last season's prize pool.
Fnatic and mousesports have decided to drop out of the tournament, likely due to the ongoing political situation in Ukraine. In return, NiP will be participating in this season's tournament.
The bottom four teams from last season, Nostalgie, Berzerk, OnBots and USSR will be dropping down to the SLTV ProSeries division, whereas the top two teams from the ProSeries division, A-Gaming and OneShot will jump up to the StarSeries division. dAT team and Copenhagen Wolves will also be joining them in the StarSeries division. We will also see newly formed UK CS:GO team The Lone Rangers play for the first time.
This season will also feature a new format, which is as follows:

Unlike last season, the teams will be split into two groups where they will play each team in their group once. The top team in each of the group stages will secure a spot at the LAN Finals, whereas the 2nd-5th place teams will be forced into two mixed group playoffs. The winner of each playoff will also secure a spot at the LAN Finals. The bottom three teams in each group will drop to the ProSeries division.
It is important to note that the standard CS:GO competitive map de_train has been removed from the map pool, and instead will be replaced by de_overpass and de_season.
