Gaming organization Game Show has recently announced Game Show League Season 1 for IgroMir, a $30,000 funded pool with $8,000 set aside for traveling expenses. The group stages are set to begin August 22nd and continue until September 19th, with the final event taking place during IgroMir on October 2-5th.
IgroMir, a Russian annual gaming event that takes place in October, is approaching rapidly and has recently announced that they will once again be hosting a CS:GO tournament. This years will be hosted by Game Show League, whom have put down a total of $30,000 for travel expenses and prize money. Igromir 2013 was wildly successful in Counter Strike last year where FBGAMING triumphed over Courage.
The group stages, set to begin August 22nd through September 19th, will have ten European teams fighting for three of four total spots at the LAN event. One American team will be invited through other means.
The LAN Finals will be held at the Crocus Expo in Moscow on October 2-5th. The event will take place during IgroMir, the largest annual exhibition for video games in Russia. Four teams will compete for a $22,000 prize pool in double elimination format. The matches will likely be best-of-three series, with the winner taking home $12,000.
Six teams thus far have been selected for the group stages including Hellraisers, Natus Vincere, Virtus.pro, Titan, fnatic, and LDLC.com.
