Brief Overview:
Despite never getting out of the group stage in a Valve-endorsed Major, Mousesports has been relevant in the professional Counter-Strike scene for a very long time. They are currently the premier German team, featuring stars such as sniper Chris "ChrisJ" de Jong and aimer Johannes "nex" Maget.
Recently, Mousesports made news by replacing veteran in-game leader Fatih "gob b" Dayik with Timo "Spiidi" Richter. Dayik is famous for being one of the best and most proven tactical leaders in Counter-Strike history. This move was probably made in order to fit in with the new meta that seems to have been set by teams like Fnatic and EnVyUs. This new meta involves a lot of firepower and a loose style of leadership. In contrast, Dayik is known to have poor statistical ratings and a very strict leadership style, similar to a general in a military.
Fun Facts:
- Mousesports have been to 3 different Valve-endorsed Majors, but have never gone to the playoffs in any of them.
- Chris "ChrisJ" de Jong is well-known for his play with the SG-008, otherwise known as the "Scout".
- Over the past 3 months, over 50% of Mousesports' maps were played on either de_Mirage or de_Cobblestone.
- On the other hand, Mousesports have not played either de_Overpass or de_Train even once in 2016.
